Patricia Rubinelli began working with glass as a photography student at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. There, she received a prestigious Eastman Kodak grant for her photographic studies of light refracting through bottles of colored water. A fascination for unusual glass containers ensued and it was not long before Rubinelli attempted to make her own.
A move to Seattle followed where she worked under highly-regarded glass artists such as Sonja Blomdahl, Lino Tagliapietra, Nancy Callan and Dale Chihuly. She was further inspired by attending a glassblowing class conducted by Lino Tagliapietra at the Haystack Mountain School of Crafts.
These days, Rubinelli resides in upstate New York and works in Williamsburg, Brooklyn creating unique glass forms for designers and collectors.
